(★‿★) Hi I’m Jayda Simmons!

Who am I?

I am a young writer under the name Jayda Simmons, and I published my children’s book, The Ballerina Who Wore Blue, when I was just 16 years old.

Although writing was something I had always enjoyed, my relationship with the hobby was never consistent. I, too, fell into the trap of distraction, and what once brought me pure joy as a kid quickly became a distant memory during my high school years.

The Ballerina Who Wore Blue was an opportunity I took on simply because it excited me. Despite never having published a book before, the process felt familiar. Everything happened so naturally, almost like reconnecting with an old friend, only this time, that friend was a hobby I had forgotten I loved.

Since then, I have learned the importance of being more intentional with how I live. I want to feel as if I am on cloud nine, excited about the life I am creating, rather than simply going through the motions. I quickly realized that following my curiosity, just as I did when publishing my book, was one way to make that happen.
